Why are my brakes making a squeaking noise in my Audi A5?

I recently noticed that my Audi A5's brakes make a high-pitched squeaking noise when I press on them. It's quite embarrassing and I'm worried it may be a sign of a bigger issue. Can anyone give me some advice on what could be causing this?

Hi John, it's possible that the brake pads on your Audi A5 are worn out and need to be replaced. This is a common and normal occurrence, especially if you have been driving with them for a while. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to have them check the condition of your brake pads and replace them if necessary.

Hey John, another potential cause of squeaking brakes could be dirty brake rotors. Over time, debris and dirt can build up on the rotors and cause them to make noise. I suggest getting your brakes inspected and cleaned at your next oil change to see if that solves the issue. If not, then it's likely an issue with the brake pads.

Hi John, I've experienced squeaky brakes on my Audi A5 before and it turned out to be a loose or worn out caliper. The caliper is responsible for squeezing the brake pads onto the rotor to slow down your car. If it's loose or damaged, it can cause the brakes to make noise. Make sure to have your caliper checked and replaced if needed.
