What kind of oil does the Audi A6 require?

I recently purchased a used Audi A6 and I'm not sure what type of oil to use. Can I use regular motor oil or does it require a specific type for optimal performance?

It is recommended to use fully synthetic oil that meets the specifications of VW 502.00 and 505.00 for the Audi A6.
