What is the difference between Quattro and xDrive on an Audi vehicle?

I'm considering purchasing an Audi and I've noticed they have two different all-wheel drive options: Quattro and xDrive. What is the difference between these two systems in terms of performance and handling?

Quattro is Audi's proprietary AWD system and is known for its efficient and seamless power distribution. xDrive, on the other hand, is BMW's AWD system and is more focused on performance and dynamic handling. In general, Quattro is better suited for daily driving and xDrive for more spirited driving.
