I'm planning to buy an Audi and I've seen these two options for all-wheel drive. Can someone explain the technical differences between Quattro and Quattro Ultra?
ReplyThe main difference between Quattro and Quattro Ultra is the driving system they use. Quattro uses a mechanical center differential while Quattro Ultra uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch. This means that Quattro Ultra can distribute power more efficiently, giving you better control and grip in various driving conditions.
In my opinion, Quattro Ultra is worth the extra cost because it can save you fuel by disengaging the all-wheel drive system when not needed. However, Quattro Ultra is only available in certain Audi models and only as an option.
Another difference is that Quattro Ultra can send power to individual wheels, making it more responsive and dynamic. Quattro, on the other hand, distributes power in a fixed ratio between the front and rear axle.
