What is the difference between AC and DC charging on the Audi e-Tron?

I'm looking to purchase an Audi e-Tron and I noticed that it offers both AC and DC charging. Can someone explain the difference between the two and which option is best?

AC charging, or alternating current charging, is the most common and widely available charging option for electric vehicles. It typically takes longer to charge, but allows for more flexibility in terms of where you can charge your vehicle. DC charging, or direct current charging, is a faster option but requires specialized equipment and is not as widely available.

For the Audi e-Tron specifically, AC charging is the standard charging option. This means that it is compatible with any standard AC outlet, making it more convenient for at-home charging. DC charging can only be done at specific charging stations with DC fast charging capabilities.
