What is regenerative braking and how does it work in the Audi e-Tron?

I've heard that the Audi e-Tron has regenerative braking, but I'm not sure exactly what that means or how it works. Can someone explain it to me?

Hi Samantha, regenerative braking is a technology that allows the electric motor in the e-Tron to convert the kinetic energy produced while braking into electrical energy. This energy is then used to recharge the battery, increasing overall efficiency and extending the range of the vehicle.

Hey Samantha, regenerative braking in the e-Tron is like a hybrid between traditional brakes and a generator. When you lift your foot off the accelerator, the car uses its electric motors to slow down and capture energy that would otherwise be lost in traditional braking systems. This energy is then returned to the battery for later use.
