Is it normal for my Audi R8 to make a whistling noise when accelerating?

I recently purchased an Audi R8 and have noticed that it makes a high-pitched whistling noise when I accelerate. Is this something that is normal for this type of car or should I be concerned? It seems to run fine otherwise.
