How to update the MMI software on my Audi A6?

I recently purchased a used Audi A6 and I noticed that the MMI (multimedia interface) software is outdated. I want to update it to the latest version, but I'm not sure how to do it. Can someone guide me through the process step by step?

To update the MMI software on your Audi A6, you'll first need to download the update files from the Audi website. Then, transfer the files onto a USB drive and insert it into the MMI system. From there, you can follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update process. It's recommended to have your car running while the update is in progress to avoid draining the battery.

There are two options to update your MMI software - you can either do it through the Audi connect system if your car is equipped with it, or physically take it to the dealership. If you choose the latter option, they will most likely charge you a fee for the update. Updating through Audi connect is free but requires a stable internet connection.
