How to properly check and replace brake pads on an Audi?

I've noticed that my Audi's brake pads are starting to wear down. What is the best way to check if they need to be replaced and what is the proper way to replace them?

First, you should inspect the thickness of your brake pads by removing the wheel and physically measuring them. As a rule of thumb, your brake pads should be replaced when they reach 3mm in thickness. As for the replacement process, make sure to use a proper tool to push back the pistons and evenly distribute pressure when installing the new pads.

Hi there, Alex! As a fellow Audi owner, I've had experience with replacing brake pads on my own. I would highly recommend purchasing a good quality set of brake pads from a reputable brand to ensure optimal performance and safety. Also, make sure to properly lubricate the caliper bolts during the replacement process.

When it comes to brake pads, it's always better to replace them sooner rather than later. Your safety on the road depends on it. I would also advise against cutting corners and going for cheaper options as this could compromise the performance of your brakes in critical situations. Stay safe and always prioritize quality over cost.
