I have been experiencing issues with my parking brake in my Audi A1. Whenever I engage it, it seems to still roll slightly and I am worried it will cause damage to my car. How can I fix this issue?
ReplyFirst, make sure that the parking brake is fully engaged. If it still rolls, you may need to tighten the parking brake cable. You can do this by using a wrench to adjust the cable at the back of the brake assembly. If this does not solve the problem, there may be an issue with the brake shoes or pads that will need to be inspected by a mechanic.
Another possible solution is to check the brake fluid levels. Low levels of brake fluid can cause the parking brake to not engage properly. If the fluid is low, simply top it off and try the parking brake again. If the problem persists, it may indicate a leak in the brake system which will need to be repaired.
