How to disable the automatic stop-start system in the Audi A1?

I find the automatic stop-start system in my Audi A1 to be annoying. Is there any way to disable it permanently?

To disable the automatic stop-start system in your Audi A1, press and hold the stop-start button for approximately 5 seconds while the engine is running. This will permanently disable the system and it will not activate again until you turn it back on manually.
