I find the auto start-stop feature on my Audi A8 to be quite annoying. Is there a way to permanently disable it?
ReplyThe Audi A8's auto start-stop feature can be disabled by pressing the button located above the climate controls on the center console. However, this only temporarily disables the feature and it will turn back on after the car is restarted. To permanently disable it, the coding for the engine control unit (ECU) needs to be changed using a dedicated diagnostic tool.
I had the same issue with my Audi A8 and I found that there is a way to permanently disable the auto start-stop feature by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it. This resets the ECU and disables the feature automatically.
