How to Check and Replace the Alternator on an Audi 80?

I'm having some issues with my Audi 80's electrical system, and I suspect it might be due to a faulty alternator. What steps should I take to check and replace the alternator on my Audi 80?

First, make sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before starting any work on your alternator. Then, use a multimeter to check the voltage output of the alternator. If it's lower than 13.8 volts, it may need to be replaced.

To replace the alternator, you'll need to remove the serpentine belt and disconnect the wiring harness and mounting bolts. Make sure to label the wires before disconnecting to ensure proper reconnection.
