I recently purchased a used Audi A1 and I want to make sure I properly maintain it. How often should I change the transmission fluid and what is the recommended procedure for doing so?
ReplyIt is recommended to change the transmission fluid every 40,000 miles or 4 years, whichever comes first. To change the fluid, first warm up the engine and then drain the old fluid through the drain plug. Next, clean and reinstall the drain plug and refill the transmission with the recommended fluid type.
Congratulations on your purchase! In addition to changing the transmission fluid, it's important to also regularly check the level and condition of the fluid. If it appears discolored or has a burnt smell, it may be time for a change.
As an Audi technician, I recommend bringing your vehicle to a certified mechanic for an annual inspection. They can check the transmission fluid as well as other important components to ensure your car runs smoothly.
