How often should I change the spark plugs in my Audi A1 and what is the best type to use?

I just purchased a 2016 Audi A1 and was wondering how often I should change the spark plugs. Also, I am not sure which type of spark plugs are the best for my car. Can you provide some guidance on this matter?

Congratulations on your new Audi A1, Maria! It is recommended to replace the spark plugs every 60,000 miles or 4-5 years, whichever comes first. As for the type of spark plugs, it is best to use OEM (original equipment manufacturer) recommended spark plugs for the best performance and longevity. You can refer to your car's manual or consult with a certified mechanic for specific recommendations.

Hi Maria, I have been a mechanic for over 10 years and I have worked on several Audi A1s. From my experience, it is best to change the spark plugs every 60,000 miles or 4-5 years. As for the type, you can use either platinum or iridium spark plugs. Just make sure they are specifically designed for your car's make and model.
