How does the Audi A7's advanced blind spot detection system work?

I've heard that the Audi A7 has an advanced blind spot detection system, but I'm not sure how it actually works. Can someone explain it to me?

The Audi A7's advanced blind spot detection system uses radar sensors to monitor the vehicle's surroundings. If another vehicle is detected in your blind spot, a warning light will appear on the side mirror. Additionally, if you turn on your turn signal when a vehicle is in your blind spot, the car will emit an audible warning to alert you. This system greatly reduces the risk of accidents while changing lanes or merging onto the highway.

I recently purchased an Audi A7 and I have to say, the blind spot detection system is amazing. Not only does it alert you to vehicles in your blind spot, but it also has a rear cross-traffic alert feature which warns you of approaching vehicles when backing out of a parking spot. It's definitely a game changer in terms of safety and peace of mind while driving.
