How do I check the oil level in my Audi A8's engine?

I just bought an Audi A8 and want to make sure my engine's oil level is where it should be. How do I go about checking this?

To check your oil level, park your car on a level surface and wait for the engine to cool down. Locate the dipstick in your engine, remove it, and wipe off any excess oil. Then reinsert the dipstick, remove it again and check the oil level against the markings on the dipstick. If the level is below the minimum mark, you should add more oil. If it's above the maximum mark, you may have too much oil and should drain some out.
