How can I reset the error codes on my Audi A6?

I recently had some issues with my Audi A6 and a mechanic told me it would be helpful to reset the error codes. How can I do this myself?

To reset the error codes on your Audi A6, start by turning on the ignition and locating the odometer reading button. Press and hold the button, then turn the key to the 'on' position. The error codes will then reset and the 'service' light will start flashing. Wait for the light to stop flashing, then turn the key to the off position and release the button. Your error codes should now be reset.
