How can I replace the water pump on my Audi A2?

I recently noticed a leak from under my Audi A2 and suspect it may be the water pump. Are there any specific steps or precautions I should take when replacing it?

First, make sure you have the correct replacement water pump for your Audi A2 model. Then, disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the coolant from the radiator before removing the old pump. Remember to replace the gaskets and o-rings as well.
