ReplyTo enable automatic tailgate opening in your Audi A5, go to Settings > Vehicle > Doors & Locks and select 'Tailgate Operation'. From there, you can choose to open the tailgate with the key, the driver's door button, or automatically when you approach the car.
I've found that the key fob method is the most convenient for me, but it's worth trying out the other options to see what works best for you. Just make sure to keep your key fob within range of the car for it to work.
